in todays lesson we learned how to properly map of poly models for uv texturing, we used a pillar as an example with some random brick wall pulled off the internet.

MudBox Low/High poly baking techniques

in todays lesson i have learned how to bake a high poly model onto a low poly model, we imported both the low and high poly model into maya, we then proceeded to select both the low and high poly and adjusted the settings for it to bake properly and efficiently, we originaly pulled the high poly model from mudbox as it would be too great to do on maya so an import was necessary.

we also added textures like rocks what make it look like it has been scorched if done properly, we also started to implement the textures into maya and started to bake the high poly model onto the low poly model, what we got at the end looks identical to the high poly model
